“ALTERNATIVE II” is an extreme high quality and super advanced Sound Design / Music Production suite. It includes Serum 2 presets and audio samples / one shots and therefore it allows full manipulation of each sound source. The outcomes of manipulating these patches are limitless. The sound focuses around all genres and sub-genres of the Alternative music spectrum but doesn’t stop there. The inspiration for it came from very modern / contemporary Alternative records of all kinds, movie soundtracks, as well as Nick Thurl Mavromatis' sound design process for his own projects as well as those of his clients.

New features / sounds (compared to previously released packs): 

• Double the amount of total new patches compared to other packs, taken from records released up to a few months ago or crafted for songs that haven’t even been released yet.
• Because of the introduction of “Samples” loading within Serum 2, many patches now using FM synthesis are being warped with sources including “velocities”. This allows the solid consistency in output volume that synths offer but it also allows for way more realistic, less robotic / dull sounding, expressive and unique sounding patches.
• Advanced vocal sample based patches for super modern leads that can now be manipulated as Oscillator inputs, loaded as “Samples” on top of previously using them only as “Noise” files. This allows way more advanced manipulation, more options as well as “Granular” synthesis applications for even richer outcomes.
• As always inspiration from artists / genres that weren't included In previous packs.
• More innovative sound design with techniques such as “Granular Synthesis” and extreme advanced techniques such as “Neurosynthesis”, that weren’t an option with previous versions of Serum (preview ALL patches / audio samples on SoundCloud).
• Hybrid drums taken to a new extreme level of quality thanks to the new Serum 2 sample loading capabilities and organised to Drumkit Folders so you don’t have to spend hours mixing and matching.
• Guitar patches and other distorted presets now don’t require extra levels of distortion outside Serum like they used to before. You’ll see patches that now stack between 2-5 different kinds of distortion in serial order or seperated by splitters. The extra addition of LFOs also allows for more expressive and detailed sound design on the distortion modules. You can use these presets alone or layer your real guitars, to get that modern “Alt guitar" feel.
• Plethora of classic synth sounds revisited and re-designed with Serum 2 insane new capabilities.

What you’ll find inside “ALTERNATIVE II”:

- Presets for all around use but adjusted for the alt aesthetic. Examples: Basses, Plucks, Leads, Arpeggiated Patches (NEW), Pads, Ambiences.

- Presets unique to this pack such as:  Brahms, Sirens, Alarms, Stabs, Vocal Leads, Feedback Emulation, Rhythmic Tension, Guitar-like presets, Pitched Percussion.

- Classic audio effects for all around use in the form of audio samples / one shots. These include: risers, impacts, explosions, bass drops, stabs, exhausts, reversed sounds etc.

- Same types of audio effects as described above, but designed from the ground up for the alt aesthetic, again in audio sample / one shot form.

- Conventional percussion but sound-designed in a unique to this library hybrid way blending real and synthetic drums for the biggest, most modern but also realistic sounding drums.

- Some more common or unique percussion or effects audio samples/ one shots.

Yes you need Xfer Records Serum 2 to load the presets.

- Do the presets actually sound like the demos?
Yes they do, with minor mixing / adjustments. Details in the "Read Me" file.

- Can I listen to real life examples of released songs so that I know how the presets and samples sound in a FINAL mix?

- Do these sound design suites actually compare in quality with artists like Bring Me The Horizon, Bad Omens or The freaking Weeknd and Chase Atlantic?
The quality is actually the same. Just visit the Spotify or YouTube links and do a side by side comparison with your favorite artists for yourself. The suites are being used to songs that have been signed by well known labels, featured in the biggest editorial and non editorial playlists on Spotify, Apple, YouTube Music and other DSPs and have gathered hundred millions of streams across platforms.

- Is there any chance something can go wrong with the installation and patches don't work?
